Bay of Islands. A subtropical area with beautiful beaches, picturesque islands dotted over dazzling clean waters, kauri forests, fishing and golf. A cruise among the islands can bring you among dolphins or whales.
Taupo. An area of pristine nature. Enjoy gracious hospitality and the sound of the river. Try trout fishing, head off for a cruise on Lake Taupo, or visit Rotorua, an hour away, with geyers bubbling and puffing. Learn about Maori culture.
Banks Peninsula. Originally two volcanoes forming an island, now joined to the mainland with spectacular bays, seaside villages, walking trails, boutique galleries and cafes, 20 mins drive from Christchurch.
